Old Fashion Education Curriculum is a curriculum that is reading based. This curriculum teaches from older books and is has an emphasis on character, morality and God. It is similar in method to Charlotte Mason. Many of the materials used in this curriculum can be found for free online or at the library. There is a good section that gives you the scope and sequence by grade, so you can just review a specific year if you would like. There is a facebook group and yahoo group if you need help implementing it or have questions. Old Fashion Education can be found here.
The Puritans Network website offers a free curriculum that is steeped in the Puritans’ religion and philosophy. It is for grades K-12. You don’t have to be a puritan to get a lot from their materials though. They offer the basic core subjects to be studied and all of the material is free. It is presented in .pdf format and suggested that you print everything off and put them in binders. While I personally find that a bit overwhelming, I can e-mail the .pdf’s to my kindle and read them that way. You can choose to use the materials in whatever format works best for you. You can find their materials here.
